Dottie Shirley had the privilege of being a homemaker and mom for most of her adult life. Her college training had been in music performance and elementary education. Through those years she and her Minister of Music husband served in churches in Oklahoma and Texas. It was while they were in Plano, Texas that Dottie decided to go into Real Estate so she could help with her children's college education. That was 25 years ago and she is still in Real Estate.
She looks at Real Estate as a ministry. Helping people find their dream home, helping them sell their homes, educating them in the process and hopefully fulfilling their dreams. Her love of baking and serving come in handy as she works through her transactions. Her biggest joy and satisfaction through the years is the people she has worked with because many have become wonderful personal friends.
Currently she is very active in her local church where she teaches, sings in her church choir. She has been a member of the Salado Community chorus for 16 years and for the last 3 years has been the director. She teaches a few piano lessons, she is an active member of the Salado Auxiliary, a member of the Republican Women, and has served on several committees with the Temple Belton Board of Realtors.
She has been married to her husband for 53 years. She has a son, daughter in law and 3 grand children who live in Kansas City, Missouri. She has a grown granddaughter who is attending University of Missouri. Dottie's Life style is simple. She puts God first, Family second and Country 3rd.
